Day #23 in A Year of Positivity

“A positive attitude causes a chain reaction of positive thoughts, events, and outcomes. It is a catalyst, and it sparks extraordinary results.” – Wade Boggs

Hello and welcome to Day #23 in A Year of Positivity! I’m excited to say that today’s quote comes from an inspiring message I heard from my birth father. The author of today’s quote is Wade Boggs, “A positive attitude causes a chain reaction of positive thoughts, events, and outcomes. It is a catalyst, and it sparks extraordinary results.”

This quote really makes me think, and so does a story that my birth father told about a certain time of his in the United States Air Force. With his permission, I’d like to share it with you as well:

“I remembered the time when I was younger in the Air Force. We were in Iraq about to be inserted on the night mission to retrieve a couple of downed army chopper pilots. It was my first night mission, and I was somewhat nervous. I remember an old master sergeant told me that you simply don’t go in the battle hoping to be victorious, but you bring that victorious attitude, the victory mindset with you, and therefore you have no other option but to succeed and win the fight!

I’ve always tried to remember that. We did get to rescue those two army pilots, and we won the battle and everyone came home safely. I’ve always tried to remember that down through the years whenever I get into a situation where victory looks nearly impossible.”

My father’s message about the mindset is a powerful one. What we choose to do with our mindset will set the tone of things to come. If you’re someone who’s experiencing a lot of negativity, or you’re stuck in a situation that seems to be impossible to dig your way out of, try adapting your mindset to a more positive one, and don’t let anymore negative thoughts in.

If you think you can, you will. If you think you can’t, you won’t.
